Girls for Gender Equity
Girls for Gender Equity (GGE) works intergenerationally, through a Black feminist lens, to center the leadership of Black girls and gender-expansive young people of color in reshaping culture and policy through advocacy, youth-centered programming, and narrative shift to achieve gender and racial justice. In my current role, I have been responsible for managing and developing the content for all social calendars across X (formerly known as Twitter), Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook. I am also responsible for the development of all video content and analytical tracking.
Stats
- Transformed GGE's social media engagement, achieving a 135% month-over-month increase within six months through a strategic overhaul on Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, Medium, and Facebook.
- Orchestrated collaborative efforts with the marketing team to plan and execute impactful brand activations featuring renowned industry influencers Arianna Davis, Ericka Hart, and Shoniqua Shandai; resulting in a 40% increase in brand visibility and engagement metrics.
- Produced comprehensive internal communication guidelines that align with the organization's values and vision and ensured successful implementation and adherence to these guidelines across all projects within a 1-2 week timespan after their launch.
- Collaborated with local and national partners to create compelling narratives for Frentorish Bowie, Simone Biles, and Angel Reese.
- Consistently analyzed data on organizational storytelling, communications, and social media using tools such as Hootsuite, Google Ads, Looker, Jira, Confluence, and Excel. Reduced data analytic meetings by 50%, streamlining decision-making and improving resource allocation.
- Generated comprehensive monthly reports that showcase digital key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights for improvement. Ensure reports are delivered to the relevant stakeholders by the 1st of each month.
TurnUp Activism
TurnUp is the largest youth-led voter registration and turnout initiative on a mission to strengthen democracy. My responsibilities include digital strategy and social media management for the organization.
Stats
- Cultivated campaign strategy and led a national awareness campaign aimed at increasing voter registration, managing a distributed team of organizers with over 4,000 youth voters. Campaign highlights include designated voter registration drives, youth voting presentations, and local call center collaborations.
- Develop internal and external guidelines to tell TurnUp’s story and inform a community of over 10,000 about pertinent voter issues including abortion, immigration, and voter rights.
- Increase social media following by over 1,000 people in a span of three months based on revised social calendar content and updated graphics.
- Increased TikTok engagement by 968% based on a series titled “Three Things You Missed In The News This Week,” where users are given a brief synopsis of three pieces of national news related to national and local election cycles.

A coalition of stages, venues, performers, and workers in the live events industry, #SaveLiveEventsNOW was an initiative to support the more than 12 million people impacted by the industry shutdown due to COVID-19.
